Inspiration

Justin Bieber 'Never Say Never'
This is the documentary which has inspired me majorly because this shows his journey for music at a young age till now. The film follows the pop star Justin Bieber during 10 days counting down to what is considered his biggest performance, that of August 31, 2010 in Madison Square Garden, which sold out in 22 minutes. Bieber enjoyed singing from a young which has made him successful because that was his dream career which tells me I can complete something I enjoy which is my FMP it is to do with me and how it changed me as a person which shows my journey through Forgotten Roots. He showed young people that you can climb your stairs to what you want to do.
As I am doing a Documentary on myself showing my past in black and white and my present which is a journey like Justin Bieber when he was young till now. By watching this documentary helped me to do mine on Final Cut Pro it boosted my confidence by being creative as he starts of by standing still in a studio and it then starts his journey from there you can clearly see Justin's side on how energetic he is behind the scenes which is similar to mine its about me, myself and I. My past is going to give the bad boring side and the present is showing the active and good side after coming back from Forgotten Roots as it has taught me a wide range of stuff which I didn't know and made me realise a lot coming back to the UK. Therefore I want to show my clear side and why I am doing this documentary.

Other Reality Shows

Keeping up with the Kardashians

Is an American reality television series. The series premiered on E! in October 2007. It has focused on the personal and professional lives of members of the Kardashian and Jenner family, headed by Kris Jenner and her husband, Bruce Jenner, with their children and close friends which includes Kardashian sisters (fashion models), Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, and Khloe Kardashian, and their younger brother Rob Kardashian, plus the Jenner sisters, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner (also models).

This reality shows their lifestyle and what they get up. This relates to my reality show because it showed what we got up to in Bangladesh airing our personal behaviors on screen and how we communicate with people in the village. This show has an big impact on peoples lives in today's society e.g. girls will try to compare themselves to these celebrities and how they can change there lifestyle by dressing up or putting make up on or attitude issues etc which is bad because this causes problems within families. Whereas my show can educate people in the sense of encouraging teenagers mainly to stay in contact with there roots and how easy life is in the Europe.

Kimberly, Kourtney & Khloe Kardashian in a room gossiping as usual showing there girly side. This is showing the real side of girls in a room.
Whereas me and the five girls was gossiping about how we did in our challenges and whether we got injured.

I'm a Celebrity GET ME OUT OF HERE is another reality show were contestants test there fears and how far they can go with their challenges. In this can we had plenty of challenges in my reality show. The only thing that is a bit different is we don't eat raw food such as kangaroo's eye etc. Going back to challenges we had to do a challenge which was called the 'War Challenge' we had to fight against the world in terms of protecting our fellow community in Bangladesh and protect the country from taking over by another country. So I think this was one of the biggest challenge it was touching at the same time. There show is filmed in a jungle which is similar to our because we filmed in the village where there's green around us all the time.

Big Brother is a group of people staying in one big house who is isolated from the outside world and continuously watched by cameras. In order to win the final cash prize, all the contestants have to do is survive periodic evictions and be the last one standing. Similar we have to compete with others to win the cash prize but in order to that our behavior and challenges should be in point. Big Brother is a successful show which has started of like a normal series then grew to make different types of series such as Celebrity Big Brother. On the other hand if my reality show is successful then it'll will grow to become something else as viewers will talk about it and it will go across countries which will then have contestants from different countries going to experience Bangladesh.  Both reality shows how people are and what issues they have with one another as both shows do personal interviews all the time to see your view on people which is naturally giving the audience an idea of how personal you can be.

Apprentice is a British reality show in which a group of aspiring young businessmen and women compete for the chance to win a £100,000-a-year job as an apprentice to the British business magnate Lord Sugar (previously known as "Sir Alan Sugar") in series one to six. Apprentice reminds me of one of the episode we had to do as our challenge. We went to the market in the village and had to pair up with one of the contestants. So our task was to sell food products and attract customers to buy my product and see how much profit we made at the end of the challenge.

'Can Fat Teens Hunt'

Ten dangerously overweight teenagers embark on a perilous journey that could save their lives. This reality show relates to the reality show I've been on because this young teens went abroad to lose weight whereas I went to my motherland to learn the lifestyle of working class people. Participants from both reality show suffered at the beginning adjusting with the atmosphere people etc.
Danielle 'Can fat teens hunt' ("I wanna go home! I want my bed! I miss having a ceiling and my pink walls! I miss my light switches!") and Toslima 'Forgotten Roots ("Ami goro zaitam amr khani koi - which means I wna go home wheres my food"). Talking about food they took away 'UK Sainsbury' food away from us such as chocolates, crisp snacks overall.

This clearly proves how bratty children are and how they cannot cope in a different country. It's there way or no way. Therefore it is really good when children like them experience the life outside their comfort zone. By doing this gives them a boost in life and makes you really confident the whole concept of an reality show turns you into a difference whether its for the good or the bad and in my case and the other contestants that were in the same show as me think the same. Most of us were ignorant before we left this country and we turned out to be someone totally different in a good way.

Pradeep Bhattacherjee

Director of Forgotten Roots!

He is best known for sceneries when he directs. Bhattacherjee took a year choosing his location wisely as he loves his locations. He does not choose a location by looking it but he digs down to see if there are history in certain places for us and the crew can learn something and not just have fun. As he was directing this whole reality show he always thinks outside the box to produce something unique and different and how the audience can engage with his show.
By looking at these images you can clearly tell how creative he is. He came up with ideas to decorate the hut with hay and use colourful paints and materials to decorate the outside and inside.
As you can see the mud hut was originally rusty and they had to design it for the reality show to show the  beauty and art of Bangladesh. We stayed at a place called 'Lalakhal' near India which gave us the best view from where we was. All thanks to this wonderful Director giving us an opportunity to see the beauty of Bangladesh. The bottom picture has white design on the walls which is 'Alpona' very famous art used around Bangladesh and India mainly 'Rangoli' designed by powder and Alpona designed by paint this show the cultural side of Bangladesh. As a director he had to research and develop ideas the way I am doing it to help to produce my final outcome. His someone who really inspires me because I know him personally so it motivates me to follow him and use his ideas to direct or produce and outcome.

Changes Made: TWO SCREENS

'The Vertical Collage'
This person created a whole image and built in into 3 section in 9 different shots. He set up cameras high, medium and low to get his shot. He filmed separately to get one scene accurately so it flows together. He was inspired by David Hockney and the aim was to be projected vertically. Watching this gave me random ideas on my project by doing so many different things. The person who came up with this concept thought outside the box to attract his audience, So in this case I thought I want to do something which is going to be interesting and then thought of doing my film set into two screens showing my past and present. As in this footage it was filmed in black and white which gives a different effect and changes as in emotions to the footage. My footage will show two sides in different colors. Black and white shows the blunt and no feelings side and if you have something in color in gives you a happy feeling and it looks more engaging.

This was definitely inspired my David Hockney. This little clip shows everything being out of place but then you see everything is coming back together. Talking about Black and white again just draws you in to the footage. In this clip you can hear the birds singing, doors knocking etc. As they make noise it zooms in and cuts everything out and focuses on one thing which the audience get attracted to. David Hockney presents all his work very wisely. Looking at his work made me think that I can create my footage to an extent where my audience will talk about my work. I will try using a a bit of Hockney's style into my footage because by looking at his work and the two clips I put up tells me that you can produce a unique piece of art which is different to other peoples work. The colors used in Hockey's work makes each and every part stand out as he used bright colors. He uses different materials to his work and puts everything together as one image.

My Brief

I intend to do a documentary/trailer/short film about the reality show I was apart of which is called 'Forgotten Roots'. This reality show gave young people including me from the Europe to visit their roots and their motherland not just to view poverty at a glance but also to live poverty through their lives. By experiencing this reality show I am overwhelmed and privileged to own a mini trailer about my motherland and portray their lifestyle. I am now capable of talking about this reality show without researching on Bangladesh. When I stayed in Bangladesh for three weeks, I was given different task each day to feel how working class suffers everyday. I am very happy that they gave me this opportunity because it has change me as a person, which is now given a lot of ideas on how to do this confirmatory project, I am going to be wise where to choose my location, as I need footage of nature and good dry weather to relate to Bangladesh.
